Abstract

The study analyzed the temporal trend and epidemiological profile of sexually transmitted viral hepatitis in the state of Pará between 2013 and 2023. With a cross-sectional methodology, the study used data from the Notifiable Diseases System - SINAN. The survey revealed 1,340 notifications, with a higher incidence in 2017 and 2022. Infection predominated among men (52.79%), brown individuals (83.74%) and people with incomplete primary education (24.47%). The most affected age groups were 20 to 39 years old (43.05%) and 40 to 59 years old (36.41%). Regionally, the Lower Amazon concentrated 38% of cases, followed by Carajás (20%). The analysis suggests that socio-economic factors, unequal access to healthcare and risky sexual behavior influence the spread. The research highlights the importance of preventive strategies, such as expanding vaccination, testing and health education, especially for vulnerable populations.
